In 2022, Latvia will organize first World Junior Ranking Tournament “Yonex Latvia Junior 2022”. It was supposed to happen already in 2021, but it was canceled due to Covid-19. Previously only Elite and U17 Badminton Europe tournaments have been held in Latvia. The Latvian international junior tournament will be held in the Latvian city of Sigulda, where the Yonex Latvia U17 youth tournaments were successfully held previously.
One trip – two tournaments
The Latvian junior tournament will take place a week after the Lithuanian junior tournament, so players, parents and coaches are invited to plan one trip with two tournaments. After the Lithuanian tournament, whether in Latvia or Lithuania, it will be possible to organize a training camp. Together with our Lithuanian colleagues, we can organize transport from Lithuania and Latvia.
One week before the entry deadline
We are one week before the entry deadline for the BWF junior ranking badminon tournament “Yonex Latvia Junior 2022”, which will take place in the Latvian city of Sigulda (50 km from the capital Riga), from November 11 to 13. The entry deadline for the “Yonex Latvia Junior 2022” tournament is October 11, 2022. Registration is online, only national federations can apply.

U13 and U15 tournaments
The entry deadline for the U13 and U15 tournaments (no ranking and circuit) is November 6, 2022. Registration can be done by national federations, clubs. coaches and also individual players. Registration can be done by e-mail: junior@yli.lv, indicating the player’s first and last name, year of birth, country, club, discipline and partner for doubles.

Challenge Cup
The entry deadline for the Challenge Cup (for players who lost in the first rounds of the ranked tournament, involving also players from the age of U21) is November 11, 2022. Registration can be done by national federations, clubs. coaches and also individual players. Registration can be done by e-mail junior@yli.lv, indicating the player’s first and last name, year of birth, country, club, discipline and partner for doubles.

Looking for a doubles partner?
We have created a special page on the tournament website, that collects information about players looking for a partner in doubles or mixed doubles.
It will be useful in all tournaments – Junior, U13 & U15 and Challenge Cup .
To register a player looking for a pair, please send an email to junior@yli.lv
In order to pair, the players’ representatives communicate with each other themselves.
Please note that in the Junior tournament, pairing must be done and approved by the national federations of both players.

Sigulda – winter tourism center
Yonex Latvia Junior 2022 tournament takes place in the city of Sigulda – winter tourism center. Players and coaches of the tournament will have the opportunity to use the services of the Sigulda Sports Center at special prices.
